09:30 - 11:00 Plenary 3 - Intelligent financing mechanisms and models for renewable energy

In times of financial constraints in public budgets, it is crucial to identify viable financing and investment models that correspond to local and regional community development needs and promote sustainable economies. In order to generate local and regional value chains, investments and revenues need to be shared by local actors. Ideally, investment opportunities will be made available to a wide range of citizens, enabling them to turn from consumers into investors and producers also.

Experts from regions, organisations and institutions will present financing schemes in support of a regional low-carbon economy. They will also address current framework conditions and discuss if there is a need to further improve these conditions to better support local value chains.
